November 28, 2018 - The National Weather Service Hanford office reports a Flash Flood Watch has been issued for the Sierra foothills which runs through Friday morning.
Substantial rainfall accompanying a storm system will make flooding conditions possible, especially in the cities of Coarsegold, Oakhurst, Squaw Valley, Auberry, North Fork and Mariposa southward to Springville.
Roads in the Watch area include Highway 140 and Highway 41 in the vicinity of the Ferguson burn scar and Railroad burn scar and Highway 190 that runs through the Pier burn scar in Tulare county.
Monitor NOAA Weather Radio, media sources, Facebook and Twitter for updates.
Stay alert for any Flood Warnings that may be issued by the NWS.

The Flash Flood Watch continues for * A portion of central California, including the following area, Mariposa (especially the Ferguson Burn Scar Area), Madera, and the Fresno County Foothills. * From late this morning through Friday morning. * Heavy rain may occur at times (especially over the burn scar), which will make the foothills susceptible to flash flooding and possible debris flows. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.
