December 4, 2018 - Soroptimist International of Mariposa is busily planning a one-day-only Christmas home tour for Saturday, December 8, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This tour combines a mix of traditional, contemporary, and very unique homes. The tour is about the holiday spirit, and the willingness of people to open up their homes for a good cause. Proceeds will benefit Soroptimist International of Mariposa community scholarships.
Tickets are $15.00 and available at Happy Burger Diner, Trent’s Styling for His and Hers, Starchman & Bryant Attorneys at Law, Mariposa State Farm, and from any Mariposa Soroptimist member. There are 5 stops on this year’s home tour, including a lighted outside Western Christmas Town featuring a newly acquired train, a historic home, and a house highlighting a very special family story.
Soroptimist is an international volunteer organization for business and professional women who work to improve the lives of women and girls through programs leading to social and economic empowerment. In addition to participating in international projects, the Mariposa Club achieves this mission locally by giving scholarships to graduating seniors, presenting monetary awards to women that are the heads of their households seeking further education, sponsoring The Elegant Dress Closet, and donating funds to organizations such as Manna House, a non-profit organization that provides emergency food to all in need.
