Speaker Bios:
Alison Tudor (pictured left) has been the Executive Director of the Alliance for Community Transformations for over four years and with the organization for over 9 years. Prior to this, most of her work was focused on youth and violence prevention. She has her Masters in Public Administration from the University of Colorado Denver and is published in the Journal of Interpersonal Violence and Violence Against Women. Additionally, she works as a consultant for prevention and community organizing around domestic violence and sexual assault throughout the state. She is also proud to serve on the California Partnership to End Domestic Violence Coalition as its Vice President.
She is involved in other movements outside of her professional work including racial justice work and LGBTQ work. She is currently involved in a statewide project looking at the use of art to shift the narrative of domestic violence in communities from an individual/family issue to a community issue.
Chevon Kothari (pictured right) has been the Human Services Director for Mariposa County since April of 2014. In July of this year, Human Services consolidated with the Health Department and Community Services and Chevon became the Health and Human Services Agency Director. Prior to that She was the Executive Director for Mountain Crisis Services from 2003-2008, which later transformed into the Alliance for Community Transformations, a multi-service non-profit, providing a variety of services including domestic violence and rape crisis services, alcohol and drug recovery, youth services, and offender services. Chevon has worked for two other Counties, one in Oregon providing Mental Health crisis services for four years and in Tulare County, California, where she developed and managed various health and human service related prevention programs. Chevon has her Masters Degree in Social Work and her Bachelors in Psychology, both from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana, just south of Chicago where she was born and raised. She has lived in Mariposa County since 2001 with her husband and her 11 year old son.
