December 27, 2018 - The National Weather Service in Hanford has issued a Hard Freeze Watch for the Central and Southern San Joaquin Valley starting from around 3:00 A.M. on Saturday (or late Friday night).
The Freeze Watch will remain in effect until close to 9:00 A.M. Saturday morning, December 29, 2018.
Rural areas will feel the coldest temperatures down to around 28 degrees while urban areas will feel conditions just above freezing.
Durations below 32 degrees may last up to 6 hours while conditions near 28 degrees may only last an hour or 2 hours.
Take cautions to protect exposed garden plants and pipes.
The freezing temperatures will also be a threat to pets and livestock.
