December 28, 2018 - The first Friday of each month, Chelsea Kamins' TK/K students and Teena Starchman's 3rd/4th graders at Sierra Foothill Charter School get together for service learning projects. This year, these students are making decorations and cards every month to bring to the Ewing Wing, the long-term care residential facility at John C. Fremont hospital. On Tuesday, December 18, Mrs. Kamins' and Ms. Starchman's students enjoyed a field trip to the Ewing Wing. They performed their Winter Program songs for the residents and handed out holiday cards they had made. Students also presented the residents with handmade calendars they can use all year long. The residents really enjoyed the songs, decorations, and meeting SFCS students. Both students and residents are looking forward to another visit in the spring.
