22-year old Keith Lundy Stump of Oakhurst, and 21-year old Cherise Agueros, of Ahwahnee, were arrested last week in Ahwahnee, after a CHP Officer saw the pair ditch a Honda (reported stolen out of Fresno) on Road 600 near CA-49. It is the same Honda allegedly used in the Sears burglary.
Authorities caught up with the duo at a home on Dillon Drive, where they recovered yet another vehicle, a 1992 GMC flatbed truck, reported stolen just that morning in Oakhurst.
Inside the truck, deputies recovered most (not all) of the tools stolen from Sears last week. The only item reportedly recovered from the stolen Honda, was a debit card that belongs to Cherise Agueros.
Mr. Stump, who’s accused of stealing more than $500 worth of tools from Sears, remains jailed on suspicion of receiving known stolen property. His bail set at $10,000
Cherise Agueros, who was booked on suspicion of vehicle theft and receiving known stolen property, sits behind bars with bail set at $25,000
The case remains under investigation. Anyone with information about the Sears burglary is asked to call the Madera County Sheriff’s Office at 559-675-7770 or CRIME STOPPERS at 498-STOP.
