January 7, 2019 - The Mariposa Photo Club is kicking off the new year by inviting all local photographers to join them for an opportunity to improve skills, share photos, receive helpful critiques, and enjoy the camaraderie of fellow photographers. Anyone from a budding beginner to an advanced expert is invited to join.
The first meeting is slated for Wednesday, January 9 at 6:30 p.m. Everyone meets in the large conference room at the Mariposa County Human Services Building on Hwy. 49N. Professional photographer Brent DeShazer will present a program on how to critique photos.
Some months there is a guest speaker. Other months a member will present a program on a particular technique. Members are invited to share photos, and everyone will work on how to critique photos to teach themselves and others how to take better photos.
If you take photos with a cell phone you are invited to attend. Members use everything from cell phones to consumer level cameras all the way up to professional level cameras. If you have questions about cameras there are people available to help you.
There is also an opportunity to learn about places to take photos and the best time to go there. Field trip opportunities are available to members.
Membership dues are paid on an annual basis and cost $12 a year. The club has been in Mariposa for many years has an elected board of directors.
