In 2011, the Artist in the Woods program was born on the Stanislaus National Forest. Artists applied and were selected to gain a two-week residence in the Forest to use the Wilderness and other natural areas as the subject of their work. As part of the 50th Anniversary of the Wilderness Act, come celebrate the beauty of the Stanislaus National Forest and Wilderness areas as seen through the eyes of six artists: Dave Harrison, photography; Dianne Stearns, watercolors; Joshua Cripps photography, Sarah Anne Graham oil painting, Laurie Wigham watercolors; and Wendy Klemperer, sculpture and painting.
