New Melones Lake

January 13, 2019 - SONORA, Calif. - The Bureau of Reclamation has announced a revised recreation area winter operations at New Melones Lake beginning January 22. These seasonal changes allow Reclamation to perform facility maintenance and enable natural resource recovery.
- Closed Tuttletown Recreation Area facilities: Acorn Campground and Fiddleneck Group Camp
- Closed Glory Hole Recreation Area facilities: Big Oak Campground and Osprey Point Day-Use Area
- Open Tuttletown Recreation Area facilities: All day-use areas, including the boat launch; Manzanita Campground, Chamise Campground and Oak Knoll Group Camp
- Open Glory Hole Recreation Area facilities: All day-use areas, including the two boat launches; Ironhorse Campground
All Tuttletown and Glory Hole Recreation Areas’ campgrounds and day-use areas will open April 1.
The New Melones Lake Administration Office is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and is located at 6850 Studhorse Flat Road in Sonora.
