Discussion and consideration of approval to amend the Classification Plan for the Madera County Assessor's Office, effective February 1, 2019, as follows:

 

1.  Amend the Classification Plan by adding the classes of:

 

a. Deputy Assessor - Appraisal Support Operations

 

b. Deputy Assessor - Real Property

 

c. Deputy Assessor - Business & Personal Property

 

2.  Set the salary range for each class as follows:

 

a. Deputy Assessor - Appraisal Support Operations:  Range 296 (MB2 1115), $5,500 - $6,686 per month ($66,009 - $80,234 annually).

 

b. Deputy Assessor - Real Property:  Range 316 (MB2 1115), $6,077 - $7,387 per month ($72,933 - $88,651 annually).

 

c. Deputy Assessor - Business & Personal Property:  Range 316 (MB2 1115), $6,077 - $7,387 per month ($72,933 - $88,651 annually).

3.              Designate the above-referenced classifications as overtime exempt, pursuant to the Fair Labor Standards Act.

 

4.              Allocate the above-referenced classifications to the Mid-Management Unit for bargaining purposes.

 

5.  Amend the Classification Plan by eliminating the class of Chief Appraiser.

 

6.  Reclassify and reallocate the following employee to the position of Deputy Assessor - Appraisal Support Operations:  Bonnie Hendrickson (currently the Chief of Assessment Services).

 

7.              Direct the Human Resources/Operations Division of County Administration to amend the Position Allocation in Org Key #00400 as follows: 

 

                            a. Retitle the Chief of Assessment Services FTE to the classification of              Deputy Assessor - Appraisal Support Operations.

 

                            b. Add 1.0 FTE and allocate it to the classification of Deputy Assessor - Real Property.

 

                            c. Eliminate 1.0 FTE allocated to the class of Supervising Appraiser (1.0 FTE will remain funded in the allocation). 

 

                            d. Add 1.0 FTE and allocate it to the classification of Deputy Assessor -Business & Personal Property.

 

              e. Eliminate 1.0 FTE allocated to the classification of Supervising Auditor-Appraiser.

 

              f. Eliminate 1.0 FTE allocated to the classification of Chief Appraiser.
