February 4, 2019 - Teena Starchman's third and fourth graders at Sierra Foothill Charter School recently had a special visitor. Gail Dreifus - a retired El Portal teacher, current music instructor in Mariposa, leader of the annual Yosemite Songwriting Retreat, member of the Meltwater Bridge Band, and more - spent time teaching the SFCS students how to write songs. Ms. Gail brought her guitar and taught students some fun songs. They also wrote a song as a class. Students very much enjoyed her visit.
