usps star ribbon forever stamp

February 23, 2019 - The Postal Service is issuing a Star Ribbon Forever stamp. The stamp features a digital illustration of a star made from a single red, white and blue ribbon. The stamp will be sold in coils of 3,000 and 10,000 and in panes of 20.

The first-day-of-issue event for the stamp is free and open to the public. News of the stamp is being shared with the hashtag #StarRibbonStamp.

Michael J. Elston, acting Secretary of the Board of Governors, United States Postal Service and Dedicating Official will dedicate the stamp on Friday, March 22, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. CST at the ASDA Midwest Postage Stamp Show, Holiday Inn Chicago Oakbrook, 17W350 22nd Street, Oakbrook Terrace, IL 60181-445.

RSVP: Dedication ceremony attendees are encouraged to RSVP at usps.com/starribbon.

The tri-colored ribbon, folded into a patriotic symbol, is intended to evoke the connectedness of the American people. Aaron Draplin, who designed the stamp, created the artwork first by sketching the design by hand and then rendering it digitally. Greg Breeding served as the project’s art director.
