March 5, 2019 – Saturday, March 9 is set for a community discussion on Current Events, including opinions on the Green New Deal, 2020 candidates, Cohen’s confessions, the North Korea stalemate, the border wall, etc. There is so much to talk about! The format will be Salon Style, giving anyone who wishes an opportunity to speak and a respectful environment. Salons were invented over 150 years ago as a gathering of people under the roof of an inspiring host, held partly to amuse one another and partly to refine the taste and increase the knowledge of the participants through conversation. With events in Washington, D.C. having so much relevance and impact to our lives it appears people need to share ideas and this forum gives people a good community space to do just that.  

There will also be a report from Heather Bernikoff who recently was very involved in the T J Cox campaign for Congress. He ran against David Valadao, who was considered unbeatable and had a large amount of money for the campaign.  Ms. Bernikoff will share now they ran the campaign and worked right up to the election deadline to pull off the upset.  

The public is urged and encouraged to attend the discussion at the Miners Roadhouse meeting room on Saturday, March 9 at 9:30 A.M. Please arrive by 9:00 A.M. if you wish to order breakfast for yourself. There will be free coffee and water.

This free event is sponsored by the Mariposa Democratic Club and is open to the community. Memberships are also available for the low fee of $10 a year or $15 for a family.
