March 5, 2019 - Mariposa County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Miles Imamura, 24, of Mariposa on Friday March 1st outside of a minor’s home.

The Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office initiated an investigation into sex crimes involving a minor. It was determined that Mr. Imamura was asking a 13 year old for nude photos and had been making plans to meet for sex via Facebook Messenger.

Mr. Imamura first contacted the minor using Facebook Messenger. The minor did not know him prior to him making contact. During the course of their internet chats Mr. Imamura was aware of the minor’s age and several times asked the minor to make sure to delete their messages because he didn’t want to “get in trouble”.

Detectives were able to determine that Mr. Imamura and the victim met several times for sex, each time Mr. Imamura would pick up the minor outside of the home. Mr. Imamura would then drive the minor to his residence returning the minor to their house several hours later. 

On the night of his arrest, Mr. Imamura planned to meet with the minor at the end of the driveway, where Deputies were waiting for him.

Miles Imamura was arrested on the following charges:

288(A)- Lewd or Lascivious Acts with a Minor

261.5(D)- Unlawful Sex with a Minor

288.3(A)- Contacting a Minor to Commit a Felony

288.4(B)- Arranging a Meeting with a Minor for Lewd Purposes
