March 22, 2019 - The CHP-Mariposa announces March 24th to March 30th will be Safety Seat Check Up Week, for Mariposa County.

It is an opportunity to ensure children are being transported in the proper safety seat. All children under the age of 8 years old are required to use an appropriate child safety seat. Many factors go into selecting the proper seat for your child. The child’s height and weight, the age and history of the seat, rear facing or forward facing, do you use the seat belt or seat anchors to secure the seat to the vehicle, are all the clips and harnesses in the proper location?

With all these things to consider the Mariposa Area CHP office would like to inform you we have car seat technicians available to help.

If you would like some assistance with the installation of your child’s safety seat, we encourage you to call the office, 209-966-3656, and make an appointment (the technician maybe out on the road).

Or drive up to the car seat event next Friday March 29th for a free inspection. No appointment is necessary, and technicians will be available, hosted by Mariposa Safe Families and the California Highway Patrol.
