April 1, 2019 - Many people view soil as an inert substance. In reality, it can be considered a living, breathing organism. Well-tended garden soil is inundated with a wide variety of creatures, bacterium, and microbes. Informed gardeners know how to foster the good ones and discourage the bad ones.

The UC Master Gardeners of Mariposa County are offering a FREE “Grow Your Soil” workshop:

• Who: Tom Willey, former owners of T&D Willey Farms -- a certified organic farm in Madera, CA.

  • The importance of soil to the food web
  • How to be better stewards of your soil
