April 6, 2019 - The Mariposa Library will offer two free Makerspace workshops to celebrate spring. The first will feature baskets made from newspapers filled with decorated gourd “eggs.” Taught by local crafter Nancy Francis, it will be held on Thursday, April 18 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and is open to all ages and skill levels. Children aged nine and younger must be accompanied by an adult. (See flier below.)

Award-winning artist Patrick Edwards will share the secrets of creating stunning collage artwork on Saturday, April 27 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This workshop is open to anyone nine years old and older. (See flier below.)

The third Wednesday of the month is movie day. This month’s featured movie on Wednesday, April 17 is “Smallfoot,” an animated film about a young Yeti (Channing Tatum) who discovers something incredible—a human (James Corden), whom the Yeti community dubs a “smallfoot.”  Rated PG, the magic behind this fun-filled film lies in the themes of friendship and courage. The movie begins at 3:15 p.m. and includes a free bag of popcorn. (See flier below.)

In addition to these in-house programs, visitors to the Library table at the Path to Wellness Fair on Saturday, April 13 will be able to design their own Earth Day buttons and learn more about Library programs.
