April 14, 2019 - We are pleased to make available the most recent annual report of the National Park Service Investigative Services Branch (ISB). The 2018 Highlights of ISB recaps significant cases, operations, awards and recognitions, and other noteworthy events that happened in the program throughout the year.

ISB Special Agents investigate complex, sensitive, and/or long-term cases of all types of crimes that occur across the National Park System, and work closely with US Park Rangers in the field every day. Investigations include crimes of violence, major property crimes, fraud, embezzlement, major resource violations, drug cultivation, and other incidents.

"I am thoroughly proud of the dedication to service by my staff," said ISB Chief Russell Roy, who retired at the end of March 2019 after a career spanning nearly 35 years. "They are all intelligent, clever, and most of all, a fun group of people to work with."

"Our branch is successful because of the people who comprise it," said Special Agent in Charge Christopher Smith. "They make sacrifices every day to make the world a better place; some of their work is highlighted in this report."

From new cases to multi-year investigations, and from isolated incidents to crimes spanning multiple agencies and nations, more about the work of ISB Special Agents is in our annual report. We hope you enjoy it, whether you read it cover to cover or take it in pieces. Keep up with us all year long on our website and social media pages.
