April 23, 2019 - The Mariposa Museum’s Annual Open House will be held on Saturday, May 4^th from 10:00 A.M. – 4:00 P.M.  Made possible through a grant from the California Revealed Program, a series of historical films will be shown throughout the day.  These are newly digitized films and include the 1929 Dedication of the Mariposa County Courthouse monument by Pathe News Hollywood, commercial advertisements once shown at the local movie theater, and many others.

There will also be an open house raffle drawing held for a hand woven tapestry made by Valerie Lazslo at 4:00 P.M., see flier below for full information. 

Visitors will have a chance to see the newly unveiled rotating exhibit featuring a History of Rock Climbing in Yosemite Valley, each of the outside venues will be open, and the stamp mill will run throughout the day. 

Then at 6:00 P.M., Glen Denny, well-known Yosemite climber and iconic photographer, will present “Yosemite in the 1960s”.  This event is sponsored by the Tioga-Sequoia Brewing Company. 

All May 4 events at the museum are admission free.  The museum is located at 5119 Jessie St., Mariposa.
