April 24, 2019 - The Merced College Foundation is pleased to announce that the seventh annual State of the College Address & Luncheon will be held on Wednesday, May 8.

This year, the Foundation is honoring local farmer Raj Kahlon with the President’s Medallion. Kahlon’s record-breaking gift of $5 million will help fund the new 20,000-square foot Agriculture and Industrial Technology Complex. In addition, special recognition will be given to Assemblymember Adam Gray to honor his tireless advocacy on behalf of the Valley and Merced College.   

“This gift isn’t about just making a donation, it’s about supporting our community and Merced College’s flagship agriculture program,” Kahlon said. “I am humbled by this recognition.”

Merced College Superintendent/President Chris Vitelli said the luncheon is a celebration of everything the College has accomplished in the last year and a preview of exciting things ahead.

“The Kahlon gift is the highlight of this event, but more importantly symbolizes the great things to come for Merced College,” Vitelli said. “The State of the College address will highlight these new beginnings and our innovative future.”

The luncheon will run from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Merced College gymnasium. Individual tickets are $65 or a table of eight can be purchased for $500. Those wishing to attend can buy tickets at www.mccd.edu/foundation.
