PERSI: The Periodical Source Index from over 8,000 genealogical and history societies.
This index assembled and maintained by the Allen County Public Library, Indiana, refers to thousands of magazines, newsletters, journals and other periodicals in their collection from the U.S., Canada, Britain, Ireland and Australia. There are over 2.7 million entries, a treasure trove of genealogical information. This class will discuss PERSI and how to access it along with several ideas on locating and using the information in these periodicals.
Speaker: Kathy Burrow has over 40 years of experience specializing in United States Research with an emphasis in the Southern and Mid West States. She currently serves as the Training Director of the Oakhurst Family History Center and has served as a FamilySearch support Missionary for the last 5 years. Kathy loves helping others do their own research and discovering their family’s stories.

MCGS has been active from 1983, and each month, we have between 20-40 members and guests attending. MCGS has very knowledgeable and professional guest speakers, meetings are free to the public, plus we love having guests!
