May 11, 2019 - Congressman Tom McClintock votes no on H.R. 986 - Repealing State ACA Flexibility.
"This measure is deceptively titled the "Protecting Americans with Preexisting Conditions Act of 2019.” It does no such thing. In fact, it repeals administration policies that have given states the flexibility to reduce premiums by increasing consumer choice and promoting competition among plans. The administration program did not affect access to insurance by those with pre-existing conditions in any way – it increased competition and brought prices down.
