May 22, 2019 - WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Chamber of Commerce Executive Vice President and Chief Policy Officer Neil Bradley issued the following statement in advance of today's House Judiciary Committee mark up of H.R. 2820, the DREAM Act of 2019, and H.R. 2821, the American Promise Act of 2019:

“The Chamber has long-called for legislation to protect Dreamers and long-term Temporary Protected Status (TPS) recipients. The vast majority of Dreamers know no other home than the U.S., while many long-term TPS beneficiaries have legally resided and worked in the U.S. for roughly two decades. These individuals contribute to their communities and the businesses where they work, and some have even started their own businesses where they employ American workers. Providing these individuals with permanent legal status is not just good for our communities and the economy, it is the right thing to do. We thank Chairman Nadler for his leadership and urge members of both parties to work together to achieve the necessary bipartisan support to get these proposals through Congress and signed by the president.”
