May 29, 2019 – Throughout the school year at Sierra Foothill Charter School, Teena Starchman's third and fourth graders have been getting together once a month for Service Learning with Chelsea Kamins' transitional kindergarten and kindergarten students to create decorations for the long term care residents at John C. Fremont Healthcare District's Ewing Wing. On May 23, students enjoyed their second field trip of the year to the Ewing Wing to sing songs for the residents and deliver decorations in person. Also, on this field trip, as part of a school-wide service-learning project, students delivered gift bags for the residents full of personal care and other special items. The Ewing Wing residents enjoyed the students' performance, talking with them, and their many gifts. It was a special day for everyone. SFCS wishes to thank our very caring community for all the donations that made these gift bags possible.
