May 29, 2019 - Sierra Foothill Charter School held its Spring Music Concert on Wednesday, May 22. Students in transitional kindergarten through eighth grade performed. The concert was the culmination of Music Instructor Gail Vanderslik's weekly lessons that help provide a robust music program at SFCS. Vanderslik taught music fundamentals in the transitional kindergarten/kindergarten and first/second grade classrooms resulting in bell and recorder performances from those students at the concert. Vanderslik has also been instructing older students not only in band instruments, but their choice of guitar, ukulele, piano, drums, or violin. At the concert, there was an advanced band performances plus many solos with the aforementioned instruments. In addition, Dan Croft volunteered his time all year to lead the SFCS Glee Club who also performed at the concert. SFCS wishes to thank everyone who came out to support the school's young musicians and Paul Singh, owner of the Catheys Valley Chevron, for donating all the cookies everyone enjoyed after the show.
