Flash Flood Statement National Weather Service San Joaquin Valley CA 313 PM PDT SUN JUN 2 2019 Mariposa CA-Tuolumne CA- 313 PM PDT SUN JUN 2 2019 ...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 530 PM PDT FOR CENTRAL MARIPOSA AND SOUTHEASTERN TUOLUMNE COUNTIES... At 311 PM PDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Up to two inches of rain has already fallen. Flash flooding is occurring or expected to begin shortly. Excessive rainfall over the burn scar will result in debris flow moving through the Ferguson burn scar. The debris flow can consist of rock, mud, vegetation, and other loose materials. Some locations that will experience flooding include... El Portal, Jerseydale and Crane Flat. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
