June 11, 2019 - Looking for something fun, exciting and educational to do this summer? The Mariposa Library offers a wide variety of free programs for children and adults, alike. Check it out!

Children aged nine and younger must be accompanied by an adult.
Every Wednesday at 10:15 a.m. – Story time with Miss Lindell
3rd Wednesday – Movie and popcorn.
*Thursday, June 13 – 3:00 p.m.—Beginning Coding with the Robot class for ages 12 and older.
*Saturday, June 15 – 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon—Beginning 3D printing-- design a project to print on the Library’s 3D printer with a simple CAD program you can use at home. Participants will have access to the printer for future individual projects. Chromebooks are available for use by anyone who does not have a laptop.
Wednesday, June 19 – 3:15 p.m.—Movie: The Lego Movie (includes a free bag of popcorn.)
*Thursday, June 20 – 3:00 p.m.—Toothpaste batik—Painting on fabric using a resist method called batik. All ages.
Saturday, June 22 – 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.—Kindle Users group—Learn to use your Kindle efficiently. This month’s topics: eBooks & apps, sharing eBooks with others. Everyone welcome.
*Thursday, June 27 – 12:00 noon-2:00 p.m.—Computer class--Basics of Computing—MAC (Apple) Users -- Desktop computers.
*Thursday, June 27 – 3:00 p.m.—Wonderful Wool Workshop—felting & spinning. Learn to card and spin wool, make a piece of felt from fleece. All ages.
*Saturday, June 29 – 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon—Intro to genealogy. Learn how to research your family history with Library staff member Cheryl Johnson.
*Thursday, July 11 – 12:00 noon – 2:00 p.m.—Computer class--Basics of computing—MAC (Apple) users—Laptops.
*Thursday, July 11 – 3:00 p.m.—X-Sci-ting X-periments. Hands-on science that is simple and fun. Ages 5+.
Wednesday, July 17 – 3:15 p.m.—Movie: Mary Poppins Returns (Free bag of popcorn included.)
*Thursday, July 18 – El Portal Library --Intro to robot (10:00 a.m.) and toothpaste batik. All ages welcome.
*Saturday, July 20 – 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.—Beginning Knitting with Peggy Shainberg.
Saturday, July 20 – 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. —Kindle Users Group—Learn and share.
Saturday, July 27 – 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. - Genealogy Workshop—Research your family’s history.
*Thursday, July 25 & August 1 – Computer classes, MAC (Apple) Users—organizing data efficiently, backing up data, installing & setting up programs.
*Saturday, August 3 – 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon—Slime, goop and other messy stuff. Wear your grubby clothes for this one. All Ages.
*Saturday, August 10 – 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon—DIY clocks from vinyl records & CDs. Age 12 and older. Bring battery operated clock movements (the hands of a clock).
*Thursday, August 15 – 3:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. - 3D printing - ages 8+.
Saturday, August 17 – 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.—Kindle Users Group—all Kindle owners welcome.
Wednesday, August 21 – 3:15 p.m. –Movie—How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World (Free bag of popcorn included.)
*Saturday, August 24 – 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon—ceramic mosaic steppingstones—ages 12 and older.
Saturday, August 24 – 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.--Genealogy Workshop—Discover who’s in your family tree.
*August 25 & September 5 – 12:00 noon – 2:00 p.m. --computer classes, MAC (Apple) Users——How to set up an internal network with a printer, file sharing.
