June 17, 2019 - On Sunday, June 2nd at Silver Valley Ranch in Mariposa, the current Mariposa Rodeo Royalty welcomed the contestants for this year’s contest. There was an open discussion about the contest regarding what to expect, packets of information went out and former Queen, Jessica Segale along with fellow committee members were on hand to answer questions.

On June 9th all the contestants came together along with the Current Mariposa County Fair Rodeo Princess, Desiree Turck and Jr. Princess Lily Habeck, for a workshop on public speaking, impromptu questions, modeling & interview at Bill Lowe’s house.

Competition takes place on Saturday, August 10th, 2019 starting with the Horsemanship element at 8:00 A.M. at the Mariposa Fairgrounds Gold Bowl arena (free to public). Following the horsemanship portion, all contestants will move into a closed personal interview. That night at 6:00 P.M. the dinner/on stage portion of the contest will take place in Building A of the Mariposa Fairgrounds. Crowing will take place at the Mariposa County Fair Rodeo on Sunday, September 1st.

Each contestant is required to obtain sponsors as well as sell rodeo tickets and raffle tickets. Raffle tickets are available for $5 each for a chance to win a $500 visa gift card. Rodeo tickets are $10 each. Please get in touch with any contestant or current rodeo royalty to acquire tickets and sponsorships or contact Carol Suggs at mariposarodeo@gmail.com or (209) 966-8150. A limited number of tickets will be sold for the rodeo royalty dinner at $15 each and available through Carol Suggs.

Queen:
Victoria Smith, 19 years old, from Sonora 
Mary Suess, 22 years old, from Sonora

Princess:
Lola Beams, 12 years old, from Yosemite Forks
Tillyanna Healy, 13 years old, from Cathey’s Valley

Jr. Princess:
Emma Marie, from Mariposa 
Daniele Turck, 11 years old, from Mariposa

The contest is administrated by the Mariposa Friends of the Fairgrounds Foundation a nonprofit organization that helps assist the Fairgrounds with critical improvements and maintenance allowing them to stay open now and for future generations to enjoy.
