January 2, 2014 - The Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office started out 2015 with some big changes in the Administrative Office. With the retirement of Undersheriff Joel Bibby after 30 years of service, we had several employees sliding up the chain of command.

Byron Robles will take over as the new Undersheriff. Undersheriff Robles has been through almost all of the ranks in our office starting as a deputy in 1990 and most recently holding the title of Patrol Captain.

Jeremy Briese has been chosen as the new Patrol Captain. Captain Briese began with the Sheriff’s Office as a Search and Rescue member when he was just 13 years old, becoming a full time Deputy in 2001.

Jacob Bobman and Kevin Packard both move from our Detectives unit to Sergeants. Both Sergeant Bobman and Sergeant Packard graduated together from the Police Academy, started with our office as Deputies on the same day in 2007 and continue their trend of sticking together, become Sergeants on the same day.

Today these four were sworn into their new rolls, administered the Oath of Office by Sheriff Binnewies and pinned with their new badges by their wives or mothers.
