Update as of Saturday Evening: Per CAL FIRE: #MercedFire off of Merced Falls Road and La Grange Road, East of Snelling in Merced County is 150 acres and 5% contained.
June 29, 2019 - CAL FIRE reports the Merced Fire began on Saturday afternoon and is located off of Merced Falls Road and La Grange Road, East of Snelling in Merced County.
The National Weather Service Hanford Office reports as of 5:05 P.M. the fire is at 500 Acres.
CHP Merced reports a Road Closure: Due to a fire, Merced Falls Road is closed between La Grange Road and just west of Hornitos Road. There is currently no ETO.
For those of you traveling to Lake McClure for the fireworks show, you can take La Grange Road to SR-132 to Merced Falls.
