January 5, 2015 - Sacramento – Statement from Senator Tom Berryhill (R-Twain Harte) following Governor Jerry Brown’s swearing-in and State of the State address:
“Congratulations and best wishes to Governor Brown as he kicks off his 4th term. We have worked well together in the past to do what is right for California. His leadership on water brought everyone to the table to craft the water bond recently passed by the voters. I hope he continues to push his party to the center as we tackle other problems where we share a vision for California. Reforming the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) to create more jobs is one such area. Keeping a tight leash on spending is another. As always, the Governor has put forth some bold visions in his speech. A word of caution – those visions should not be achieved on the backs of the working folks. I wish him the best and look forward to working with him over the next four years.”
