July 10, 2019 - Dear Valued Stakeholder,

We hope you received our previous email announcing the release of the revised draft environmental impact statement and revised draft land management plans for the Sequoia and Sierra National Forests.

The revised draft documents are available for a 90-day public comment period, starting from the date of publication of the Environmental Protection Agency notice of availability in the Federal Register (June 28, 2019). The public comment period will close on September 26, 2019.

The documents can be found on the project website at: https://tinyurl.com/USFS-r5planrevision.

We will provide an orientation to the revised draft plans and explain how to navigate the documents and public involvement process during a public webinar on July 10, 12:00-1:30 p.m. (Pacific).

You can register for the webinar by clicking here. Registration is accepted at any time up to the start of the webinar.

Please follow directions for connecting to the webinar using the Webinar Connection Guide on the Public Involvement and Outreach page on the project website (link above). Conference line information will be provided to you once you enter the webinar meeting. If you experience issues with registration or are unable to participate via webinar, please contact Alice Lee at alice.lee@usda.gov. Send questions ahead of time to Alice to hear responses during the webinar or have them addressed in writing and posted to the project website at a later date.

Note: We will not be answering questions on plan content at this time. However, questions related to participating in the public involvement process are welcome and will be answered during the webinar, as time allows. Please refer to the Public Involvement and Outreach page on the project website to learn more about "virtual office hours" and other opportunities to ask questions on plan content during the 90-day comment period.

For further information on the plan revision effort, contact the Team Lead, Fariba Hamedani, at 707-562-9121 or by email to fariba.hamedani@usda.gov. Thank you for your continued interest in the management of your public lands.

Sincerely,

Dean Gould, Forest Supervisor, Sierra National Forest
