July 25, 2019 - The National Weather Service Hanford Office reports a Heat Advisory is in effect for the San Joaquin Valley and West Side Hills from 1:00 P.M. this afternoon until 8:00 P.M. Friday evening.
High temperatures of 101 to 106 degrees are expected in the San Joaquin Valley and West Side Hills this afternoon and Friday afternoon.
Heat sensitive people and those who are new to the area will be most prone to heat illness.
Dehydration and prolonged exposure or strenuous physical activity outdoors during the hottest time of today and Friday could lead to heat exhaustion and/or heat stroke.
If you have to be outside this afternoon or Friday afternoon, wear sunscreen, drink plenty of water, and wear light colored, loose fitting clothing.
An Excessive Heat Watch is in effect for the San Joaquin Valley and West Side Hills from 11:00 A.M. Saturday morning until 8:00 P.M. Sunday evening.
High temperatures of 104 to 109 degrees are expected in the San Joaquin Valley and West Side Hills Saturday afternoon and Sunday afternoon.
Heat related illnesses, such as heat exhaustion and heat stroke will be possible.
Drink plenty of fluids, stay out of the sun, and remain in an air-conditioned room.
