Pastors Corner 200August 9, 2019 - Pastor’s Corner is a weekly column from Pastor Wynter Sturtevant III of the Mariposa Reformed Baptist Church.

The Church has moved locations, services are now held at the Bootjack Stompers Hall (located at 4662 Morman Bar Crossing) across from the Mariposa County Fairgrounds.

Time of service is still 10:00 A.M. on Sunday.

Often people read the Law of God, those shall and shall not type of verses, and find themselves in distress. They look at the verses and think to themselves that they cannot do all that. There are even some who would say that they can hold to all of it which is a topic that goes beyond this article. I think many fit in the first category. People hear messages from other people that are more self-help than anything and then look to do just that only to find out that our sin has corrupted us to the point that we cannot hold to the whole law of God. Not only can we not hold to the whole of the law, but we are condemned by it.Elder Wynter Sturtevant

We must remember what truly is the Christian Gospel message. A message of Christ dying on the cross for sinners, people who have broken the law. That is a comfort for we who are frequent breakers of the law, a comfort for those people who see that they cannot hold to the whole of the law. A comfort for the condemned. A comfort that is found in the words of Romans 8:1, “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” So, when the Law reveals how truly fallen you are and when you are at a low point, may you turn to Christ and if you are a Christian remember what Christ has done for you. Remember that through Christ you are forgiven.
