January 8, 2015 - Washington—Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) today released the following statement on Senate passage of the Terrorism Risk Insurance Program Reauthorization Act of 2015 (TRIA):

Dianne-Feinstein“The terrorism risk insurance program must continue as it will enable economic growth and allow our communities to rebuild in the event of a major terrorist attack. While our strong national security apparatus is always vigilant in protecting us from terrorist attacks, we have a responsibility to prepare for the very worst. TRIA, by guaranteeing insurance in the event of an attack, is an essential part of that preparation.

“This program is especially important for California, one of its largest users. It is widely known that California—with its iconic tourist attractions, bustling city skylines, hundreds of airports and mass public events—could become a target for terrorism. Now, with the reauthorization of TRIA, we know that California communities and businesses will be able to grow and Californians can be resilient in the face of catastrophe.”
