August 19, 2019 - On Monday morning CAL FIRE reports the Gaines Fire in Mariposa County is at 1,300 Acres with 75% Containment and is Under Investigation.

Today will be a continuation of Sunday's work on the Gaines Fire with tying in fire lines, clearing out hot spots, etc. 

The scanner will most likely be as slow or slower than Sunday with information on the fire.

August 18, 2019 - On Sunday morning CAL FIRE reports the Gaines Fire in Mariposa County is at 1,300 Acres with 40% Containment and is Under Investigation.

Today will be a continuation of Saturday's work on the Gaines Fire with tying in fire lines, clearing out hot spots, etc. 

The scanner will most likely be as slow or slower than Saturday with information on the fire.

Update Saturday: 7:00 P.M. Gaines Fire Advisory Lifted.

All Fire Advisements and Road Closures have been lifted as of 7pm tonight 8/17/2019. There may still be fire suppression equipment in the area. Please drive with caution and watch for fire personnel.

Update 4:56 P.M. Per CHP: Bear Valley Road closed from Sr-49 to Mt. Gaines due to the Gaines Fire.

Update: 4:35 P.M.  Per CAL FIRE: 500 Acres

Update: 4:13 P.M.  Per Mariposa County Sheriff's Office: A Fire Advisement has been issued for the following locations:

Pendola Gardens Rd
Corbett Creek 
Gold Dust Lane
Old Toll from Hornitos to Pendola Gardens
Hwy 49 From Bear Valley Rd to Pendola Gardens
Bear Valley Rd Hwy 49 to Hunters Valley Rd

This is NOT an Evacuation Order. This is an advisement only of a potential Evacuation Order should conditions change. If you do not feel safe, do not wait for notification, you may evacuate on your own.

Should this area become under a Mandatory Evacuation Order you will be notified via the Sheriff's Office Emergency Alert System by Text, Email and a Voice Call, the Mariposa County Sheriff's Office Facebook page and door to door communication by Sheriff's Office staff. At that time you will be notified of the best routes of travel to safely evacuate your residence.

August 16, 2019 - The Mariposa County Sheriff's Office is reporting that Deputies and Fire personnel are responding to a fire in the Mt. Gaines / Bear Valley Rd. area of Mariposa County.
