August 23, 2019 - The SPCA of Mariposa County has been busy updating the shelter and office with many improvements. The first being much needed new roofs on all the buildings, the front gate was repaired, and new cooling units were installed for the animals, as well as the office area. This was a costly large project that was very much needed. Dave Wise of Natural Environments in Mariposa did all the repairs, and he did a fantastic job! We truly appreciate all his and his teams hard work.

With all the repairs being done the SPCA needed to be closed for several days. This meant that no funds were collected from the yard sale, those funds help to keep the shelter up and running. The SPCA would appreciate the communities help with defraying some of the cost of the improvements. There are several ways to help.

• You can become an SPCA member, either as an individual or a business.
  Individual membership is $25, and a business membership is $100.
  
  
• You can save your receipts from Pioneer Market and bring them to the SPCA office. Pioneer Market donates back 1% of every dollar purchased on receipts collected, tallied, and turned in.
  
  
• If you shop on Amazon, you can choose the SPCA of Mariposa County as your AmazonSmile Charity of choice.
  
  
• Donations are always welcomed.
  
  
• You can shop at the SPCA yard sale.

The SPCA yard sale is open Tuesday through Saturday from 8:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.  The yard sale sold everything before the roof was repaired, so everything for sale is new. Come by and check it out!

Adoption hours at the shelter are 10:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. Tuesday through Saturday.
