Madera County Sheriff Deputies and Search and Rescue Volunteers, Sierra Ambulance, Madera County Fire, CAL-FIRE and United States Forest Service all responded to the location.
When rescue crews arrived on scene, they located a 26 year old female subject with injures to her lower leg, ankle and foot, who was unable to walk and had been pulled from the water by family members. She was carried out in a rescue litter and transferred to Sierra Ambulance for transport to a Fresno area Hospital.
The Sheriff’s Office would like to remind people visiting the National Forest to be aware of where they are in case of emergency.
The family was able to quickly give dispatchers directions to where they were and enabled rescuers to get to the subject quickly.
