September 9, 2019 – Ask any firefighter what the number ‘343’ means to them, and you'll probably get an assortment of responses; but they'll all center on the bravery and the selflessness that represents what is best about our Nation, and the firefighters who respond in time of need.
Three hundred and forty-three firefighters were lost on September 11, 2001 while conducting the largest rescue operation in the history of the fire service. They were helping their fellow citizens escape the mostly deadly terrorist attack in the history of the United States.
On Wednesday, September 11, 2019, Mariposa County Fire Department asks everyone to please join with us at the Mariposa Art Park from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. to honor our fallen brothers and sisters with the Fire Department Bell Ceremony.
