September 9, 2019 - By the time your reading this, I am likely well into my sermon series on the Gospel of Matthew. I recently finished my first sermon series ever as pastor Mariposa Reformed Baptist Church. Actually, I concluded my first sermon series ever. The series was on the Orthodox Catechism, a particular Baptist document from 1680. I would encourage folks to take a look through it, especially my fellow Baptist brothers and sisters. May we endeavor to learn more of our history and rediscover that we do not need to constantly reinvent the wheel when conflict arises.

Know your faith brothers and sisters, that includes reading both the Old and New Testaments. One of the points I make in the Gospel of Matthew sermon series is that there are references to the Old Testament, connecting the promises of God to the promises now fulfilled. I plan to base my upcoming pastoral notes to be on Matthew and I hope to flesh out this connection moving forward. It will entail a little bit of hermeneutics, biblical theology, and more.

Does this help me in lightening the workload? You better believe it! I hope that this will be a benefit to you as well. As always, may the series remind you of the truth that Christ truly paid it all. Have faith in Christ and take comfort that through him, you are forgiven.
