January 14, 2015 - On Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at Noon, a Kamps Propane delivery truck driven by Scott Oehlschlaeger, 43 of Turlock, on West Whitlock Road slipped off of the roadway.

Mr. Oehlschlaeger was just east of Emerson Road on the winding, narrow dirt/gravel section of West Whitlock Road when another vehicle was approaching from the opposite direction. He positioned the delivery truck on the extreme right edge of the roadway and stopped to allow the oncoming vehicle to pass. The weight of the 2011 Freightliner propane truck caused the roadway to give way and the truck slid thirty feet down the steep embankment and rolled over onto its side.

Mr. Oehlschlaeger receiving no injuries climbed out of the cab of the truck.

Mariposa County Fire and the CHP responded to the scene and closed West Whitlock Road until 9:30 P.M. as the truck, not having spilled any hazardous material, was winched back up onto the roadway.
