September 25, 2019 - Anyone interested in learning more about the Mariposa Library Adult Literacy Program is invited to attend a panel discussion in the Library community room on Wednesday, October 9 from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 noon. Refreshments will be served.

After a brief introduction by the program coordinators, members of the panel, which will be comprised of tutors and learners who have actively participated in the program, will discuss their involvement and answer questions from those in attendance. There will also be an opportunity for potential tutors to register for the next tutor orientation and training and for new learners to schedule an initial meeting.

The Library’s adult literacy program provides free one-to-one tutoring in reading, writing,  math and English language skills to anyone aged 16 or older not enrolled in school based on the individual’s needs and skill levels, which range from basic literacy skills to those required to pass a high school equivalency exam. Tutors are trained volunteers.

For more information about the adult literacy program or the panel discussion, email karen.dusek@mariposalibrary.org or call (209) 966-2140 and ask for Karen.
