January 16,2015 - Washington, D.C. – Congressman Tom McClintock (CA-04) has been appointed Chairman of the Federal Lands Subcommittee of the Natural Resources Committee for the 114th Congress. McClintock has served as a member of the Natural Resources Committee since 2009, most recently chairing the Subcommittee on Water and Power.
“The sound and rational management of our public lands to promote healthy forests and healthy local economies will be a top priority of the subcommittee, along with restoring access and enjoyment of these national treasures to their rightful owners – the American people,” said Congressman McClintock. “I am honored to be named subcommittee chairman and look forward to continuing the excellent work on these issues begun by incoming full committee chairman Rob Bishop.”
California’s Fourth Congressional District contains hundreds of thousands of acres of land managed by the federal government, and includes the Tahoe Basin, Tahoe, Eldorado, Stanislaus, and Sierra National Forests; and Yosemite and Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks.
