The High Wind Warning has been expanded to include the central Sierra Foothill locations until 1 AM PDT Monday. Very strong wind gusts of up to 70 mph are likely to occur especially into the foothill portions of Madera and Mariposa Counties.

October 27, 2019 - The National Weather Service Hanford Office has issued a High Wind Warning beginning at 5:00 P.M. Sunday afternoon to 1:00 A.M. Monday morning.

Areas under the High Wind Warning include: Central Sierra- Including the cities of Devils Postpile, Florence Lake, Lake Thomas Edison, Tuolumne Meadows, Bass Lake, Fish Camp,Wawona and Yosemite.

...HIGH WIND WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 5 PM THIS AFTERNOON
TO 1 AM PDT MONDAY...

* WHAT...Sustained east to northeast winds 25 to 35 mph with
  gusts up to 70 mph expected along ridges and favored drainages.

* WHERE...Central Sierra.

* WHEN...From 5 PM this afternoon to 1 AM PDT Monday.

* IMPACTS...Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines.
  Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Area is additionally under a Red Flag
  Warning for critical fire weather conditions.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

People should avoid being outside in forested areas and around
trees and branches. If possible, remain in the lower levels of
your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Use caution if
you must drive.
