November 5, 2019 - The Mariposa VFW Post 6042 would like to invite all veterans, spouses, families and current military personnel of Mariposa County to attend their annual Veterans Day Spaghetti Feed on Monday, November 11, 2019. Dinner will be served from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the VFW Hall (located below the Visitors Center at Hwy. 140 N. and Jones St.). The dinner is free.

In addition to dinner, please join us for the premiere of “Give My Love to the Folks At Home” a short documentary about Keith Bertken, local resident who served and was killed in World War II. Created by filmmaker Amanda Law and produced by the Mariposa County Arts Council, this film utilizes Bertken’s photographs, letters and archival material donated to VFW Post 6042 by his relatives in 2013. The film will be shown twice over the course of the evening at 4:30 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. and will be followed by a short question and answer session with filmmaker Amanda Law and Cara Goger, Executive Director of the Mariposa County Arts Council. This film was made possible by a grant from the Mariposa County Probation Department’s Local Innovation Program. It will be made available to the public after this initial screening.

If you have questions about the dinner please call Keith Stowell at (209) 966-5954, if you have question about the film, please call the Mariposa County Arts Council at (209) 966-3155.
