NMCHC Community Breakfast on Sunday, November 10th
November 7, 2019 - A generous serving of eggs, ham or sausage, “all-you-can-eat” pancakes, fresh fruit and beverage is only $5.00 for adults, $3.00 for children or a family “package” for $15.00 (2 adults & 2 children).  There’s ample parking at the Old School House in Historic Coulterville, located at the corner of Broadway and Cemetery Streets.  So, come on down and enjoy a hearty meal from 8:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. on Sunday, November 10th.

The NMCHC community breakfasts have been taking place on the second Sunday of every month for nearly 4 decades.  Wow!  It was the initial fund-raising mechanism that raised the raised funds to create the Coulterville Museum and has been an important fund raiser ever since, helping to cover normal, and sometimes extraordinary, operating expenses.  It also is a wonderful time to run into friends and acquaintances and get to know new folks who have recently joined our community or are perhaps visiting for the first time.

Northern Mariposa County History Center Sends Out a Call for Volunteers
Volunteers are vital for everything the NMCHC does.  Central to its mission is keeping the doors of the museum open regularly every Thursday through Sunday from 10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M., with volunteers comprising 100% of the staffing needed to do this.  We ask each volunteer docent to commit to just 3 hours a month.  Recently a few of our wonderful volunteers have either moved away or had to turn their attention to other matters, so that we really need a few new folks to step up.  It is a great way to both support your community and meet people visiting from all over the world.  Call (209) 878-3015 and leave a message indicting you would like to become a Docent, along with your contact information.

The NMCHC was established as a 501c3 charitable organization in 1976 with the History Center opening to the public in 1980.  Visited by thousands each year, including international travelers from around the world, the various displays and photos provide an authentic glimpse of the life and times of the pioneers who helped settle the area in the early 1800’s and those who traveled west during the 1849 California goldrush.

Memberships and volunteer opportunities of all kinds, to fit all sorts of interests, are available.
