November 23, 2019 - Yosemite National Park officials report the Tioga Road (continuation of Hwy 120 through the park) will be closed through this weekend.

The road is snowy, with subfreezing temperatures and additional snowfall on Friday.

As an alternative, Highway 108 (Sonora Pass) is currently open (check status at https://roads.dot.ca.gov/ ).

Sonora Pass Reopened After Winter Storm

MONO COUNTY — The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) would like to notify the traveling public that Sonora Pass/State Route 108 has been reopened as of noon Friday, November 22nd.

The pass was closed earlier in the week in preparation of a winter storm.

Sonora Pass is the second mountain pass to the Eastern Sierra Nevada to reopen since the storm ended. Monitor Pass/State Route 89 reopened on Thursday. 

Tioga Pass/State Route 120 West remains closed.
