November 26, 2019 - Prather, Calif. - On Tuesday, December 10th, 2019 the Sierra National Forest (SNF) will be holding a public meeting about Special Use Permits (SUP). The intent of this meeting is to reach out to any person/s or entities, that organize, or hold recreation events on the SNF.

The primary focus for this meeting is permitting for recreation driven events. This includes events or activities such as Filming, Poker Runs, Guided Trips and other organized events with recreation in mind.  Even non-profit organized events are required to apply for a permit. Any organized recreation event in a national forest requires a SUP. The permit process begins with a proposal, and then a determination whether the proposed event is appropriate.

This public meeting will be held at the forest headquarters located at 1600 Tollhouse RD. in Clovis, staring at 6p.m. until 7 p.m. Members of the public are encouraged to attend and bring with them their proposals. The forest will have specialists on hand to answer questions and assist with the application process.
