December 7, 2019 - Progressive Mariposa welcomes Alison Tudor, Executive Director of Alliance for Community Transformations, as their Special Guest for their December General Meeting. The general meeting will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Sunday, December 15, 2019 at Mariposa County Library’s Community Room located at 4978 10th St., Mariposa, CA 95338.
Alison Tudor (pictured) has been the Executive Director of the Alliance for Community Transformations for over four years and with the organization for over 9 years. Prior to this, most of her work was focused on youth and violence prevention. She has her master’s in public administration from the University of Colorado Denver and is published in the Journal of Interpersonal Violence and Violence Against Women. Additionally, she works as a consultant for prevention and community organizing around domestic violence and sexual assault throughout the state. She is also proud to serve on the California Partnership to End Domestic Violence Coalition as its Vice President. She is involved in other movements outside of her professional work including racial justice work and LGBTQ work. She is currently involved in a statewide project looking at the use of art to shift the narrative of domestic violence in communities from an individual/family issue to a community issue.
Following last year’s very successful holiday donation drive, Progressive Mariposa members are again collecting donations for various community programs run by the Alliance for Community Transformations.
In addition to the opportunity to help make the holiday a little brighter for our community members in need, we invite folks to join us in celebrating the season by bringing snacks to share. Sweet or savory finger foods are appropriate. Plates, napkins, and beverages will be provided.
