January 16, 2020 - In the Central California area: Chains or snow tires are required from 3.3 miles West of the junction of SR 49 /at East Whitlock Rd./ to Midpines in Mariposa County.  

Chains are also required on all vehicles except 4-wheel-drive vehicles with snow tires on all 4 wheels from 6.5 miles North of Oakhurst in Madera County to the Madera/Mariposa County line.

Please research chain control locations as Caltrans is currently working to update chain control descriptions for consistency with internet mapping, like Google Maps & MapQuest.

1-way controlled traffic at various locations from Briceburg to 3.8 miles East of Briceburg in Mariposa County from 0700 hrs. (7:00 A.M.) to 1600 hrs. (4:00 P.M.) Monday thru Friday thru 1/17/20 - due to construction.
